Puranic Desi Khand (Raw Cane Sugar) Powder

Puranic Desi Khand (Raw Cane Sugar) Powder Khand(unrefined cane sugar) has been a part of Indian households since the 8th century. The juice of freshly harvested sugarcane is boiled for many days till it turns into a thick brown syrup. This liquid is left to cool down to form dark brown crystals known as Khand. Since it is partly processed, Khand retains high proportions of antioxidants, fibre, calcium, and magnesium. No chemicals or preservatives are used while preparing desi khand, making it a good alternative to refined sugar.
