It acts as a haematinic (increases haemoglobin levels and hematogenic (helps in the formation of red blood cells), making it effective in dealing with iron deficiency anaemia and other associated illness. It is also a potent digestive stimulant and promotes liver health. It may also prove effective in managing amenorrhea (absent periods) and dysmenorrhea.
